What is your Average Miles to Empty after a fuel up?

how is everyones so high?even before i had the upgrades mine was around 285, is there something wrong with my car? i bought it at 11,000 miles and now has 15,000 i haven't had time for an oil changed and idk when the last one was, maybe that is a factor?

My 2011 Sport AWD give me 280-285 miles per fill up as well.... I suspect the the 3.0 V6 can go beyond 300, and the 4-bangers can do upwards of 430, but I'm amazed to see a 2010 sport with such fuel economy (i.e. 350-365, and 432!!). What's the secret??

This all depends on how you drive. It's based on your average mpg and that can vary greatly from driver to driver and car to car.

One good comparison factor is to reset your average mpg and mph and then compare both. If your average mpg is lower then you average speed (mph) will also usually be lower and that explains why.

The computer keeps track of your average milage for the past 500 miles and uses it to compute the distance to empty. If you want to see what it is, it shows up in ETM.

I routinely see about 420-430 miles on mine. The furthest I've actually gone on a tank was right around 400 miles.

Edit: I'm FWD and drive mostly highway. Today it said 460 miles when I filled up.

how are you able to get those miles? i checked thru my info on the dash and there is no average MPH, there was on my old 08 fusion tho. i usually drive efficiently, every now and then driving aggressive on the highway. I have to go to work and class in a city tho so maybe city driving is killing me?

The biggest factor is how your drive. I drive almost all highway. If you want to know more, read my 28+ MPG thread in this section for a discussion.

You can check your running average fuel economy (RAFE) in engineering test mode (ETM). Hold Reset while you turn your key to on. Once you're in, keep pressing Reset until you see this:

This is the value used for the distance to empty (DTE) calculation. It's a running average over the past 500 miles or so. You can exit ETM by holding reset again or turning the key off.

I drive across the Denver metro area to get to work 20 miles each way. Slowest speed limit I encounter is 40 MPH and I typically go 45-50 along this route. I hit freeways twice going 55-70 MPH. I have roughly 10-15 signal lights that I hit about 60% of time. I really don't drive any differently I just make sure I don't fuel up til it reads 10-20 miles DTE. I also don't stop fueling up when it clicks off because I know I can get .5 gallon up to 1 gallon more in the tank.

No modifications....

I range anywhere from 750 to just shy of 900km depending on my driving habits. I get my best when I am on the highway obviously. I am thinking of putting in a K&N air filter on mine.... potentially a CAI but I am still thinking of that idea.

with highway and city, 22.5mpg

just went on a trip from CT to atlantic city, majority highway driving, got 26MPG and after one fill up when i got there it was 350 MTE , had some city driving, filled up again when i got back, 330 MTE,

still not the 400 others have gotten

i do city driving alot at home so maybe that is why its so low
