silver fuze
Does anyone know where I can obtain instructions on how to remove the headlight ass'y from a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport? I already checked the owners manual.
Big Jim
Are you talking assembly or bulb? The assemblies require removing the bumper cover. Access to the bulbs depends on which bulb and which powertrain. Left low beam on a 3.0 requires removing the air cleaner. For hybrids, the assembly must be removed after removing the bumper cover. Left high with the hybrid requires removing the battery. Right low beam on the hybrid require removing the headlight assembly after removing the bumper cover. Right high beam for both the hybrid and the 3.5 require removing the headlight assembly after removing the bumper cover. Right high beam for the 2.5 and 3.0 require removing the windshield washer bottle. Have fun.
silver fuze
I'm talkiong assembly. Upon my initial iispection yopu confirmed my concern....I have to remove the bumper cover. Is this something that can be accomplished by an amature or do you suggest someone w/body experience?
Big Jim
It all depends on your level of mechanical aptitude. It is not complicated. It is awkward and you probably want a second person to help hold things near the end and help lay it down. Lay it onto something to keep it from getting scratched on the ground, like a fender cover or old blanket. Detailed instructions, if you need them, are in the Ford shop manual.
silver fuze
I installed a CIA power pak on my own, so hopefully my abilities carry over to the exterior. Thanks for your helpful insight.
LFSoccer2k6
You can do it on your own...there are like 6 clips in fenders, 8 bolts underneath, and a few clips and bolts on top to remove bumper. Very simple thing to do. From there, it is a clip and 3 or 4 bolts to remove headlight. What you need to remove it for?
silver fuze
At the risk of sounding too anal, I want to attempt to make the top grille bar removable by replacing the existing (4) push pins with j-clips & grind off the little plastic retainer hooks on the back of the grille. The problem is that there is a tiny gusset that needs to be ground down to make room for the clips. The only way I can see to get at it is to remove the entire ass'y in order to do a nice, clean job. The reason I want to make the grille removable is that when I take it to the track it blocks the air scoop for the CIA system I installed. I know...sorry you asked.
