WestHouston
Hi. We had a 2010 Ford Focus & had lost one set of keys. So with only one set left, dealer would charge over $150 to program a new key. We traded in that Focus for a 2012 Fusion. Now that we have 2 sets of keys, wanted to buy a third as a cheap spare, just in case. Saw this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Ford-Lincoln-Mercury-4-Button-Remote-Head-Key-Keyless-Entry-Key-Fob-80-Bit-/320923997885?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2012%7CMake%3AFord%7CModel%3AFusion&hash=item4ab88f96bd&vxp=mtr#ht_1597wt_952 Looks like $27 is pretty cheap for spare. So just wondering that once we buy this, just bring it to Lowe's (or any key place) to copy? then program it like in manual? Thoughts?
fusionff
Yeah, that one will work fine. I always get at least one extra key to avoid the dealer prices. I go to a local locksmith to have it cut. You can program it yourself with two working fobs.
umm_me
Just to throw out another option... you can pick up a flip key for about 50 bucks http://www.ebay.com/...US:3160&vxp=mtr I picked this one as a few fusion owners had good history with seller, his product and his customer service. His ebay rep backed all that up. Programming it took a few seconds, they send clear instructions which can be checked against your owners manual, they match... getting it cut is a slight hassle, lowes or walmart or places I normally would go dont cut anything they dont sell, liability policy. A locksmith or even your ford dealer's parts counter will cut it though. Feels really solid, is my daily key for 3 or 4 months now ... looks nice IMO and way less key in pocket jabs LOL Edited July 13, 2012 by umm_me

wschimoler
I purchased 2 keys from the link posted in the first message. I was able to program both keys to open the doors & start the engine. As valet keys. But I can NOT program the buttons to work. I tried the second set of instructions provided by "yourkeysupplier" for programming keyless key fobs, and that did nothing. Anyone get the remote buttons to work on these keys? Thanks in advance for any assistance. BTW, I have a brand new 2012 Ford Fusion SEL with keyless entry.
