ewall86
What is everyone's thoughts on adding a TBS to my FWD 2010 Sport? Is there noticeable difference? I already have the Steeda CAI installed just would like to see everyone's thoughts?
BlackBetty
Steeda claims that you get some power gains from it. Other owners with it claim and increase in throttle response and minor benifits. Personally I don't think they are worth it. The whole swirling of the air doesn't make sense to me because I think the TB would break that up as well as the intake runners. In a traditional carbureted motor they would probably work a bit better. There's lots of discussion about it but each to their own.

andrewdingemans
If you have it tuned and have a CAI, I find it helps to remove the 'turbo hiss' sound. Not sure about the HP gain claim though as BlackBetty also mentioned.
BlackBetty
From their website.. Steeda's patented billet aluminum thottle body spacer is designed specifically for the 2010 and up 3.5L Fusion Sport. This high quality piece is made from 6061 billet aluminum and designed to give you more plenum volume for increased horsepower. The swirl design helps promote airflow by breaking the surface tension of the incoming air. An increase of horsepower and fuel milage should be seen with this part. Kit includes instructions, gaskets and mounting hardware. Increases of 2 to 4 horsepower are typical as well as an increase in fuel mileage. So probably a 2-4HP gain lol.
FusionDiffusion
I'll believe it when I see the dyno chart showing an increase. The difference between runs would probably be bigger than the effect of the spacer.

Just a Guy in Fla.
Do you expect Steeda to tell you in their promotional material if their products do nothing to help your performance? Best thing to do is ask around for people who have tried the parts.

I definitely can tell a difference when in SST mode and kick it to redline in 1st. It creates a nice howl too that will turn heads when you put the engine under load. I would definitely recommend getting one.

ewall86
That's about it for right now. Just the CAI. My next project is getting a Borla exhaust installed. Hopefully sooner than later. Where did you get your HIDs from? I am definitely looking at getting those added to mine. How do they look at night? Not too blue are they?
