efy Posted October 16, 2012 Share Posted October 16, 2012 I'll apologize in advance if this is a dumb question, but I have no idea. I'm pretty sure the transmission on my '06 V6 is crapping out (I haven't had it officially diagnosed, but I'm just weighing my options right now). A new transmission from Ford is obviously very expensive and I really can't even afford to have this one rebuilt (roughly $3,000). However, I know that you can buy used transmissions for under $1,000 with less than 50k on them. So, I was wondering, since the '06 seems to have had the most problems with the transmission and the '09 has the least, would it be possible to replace my transmission with a slightly used one from an '09? I know they're the same transmission, but I'm unsure as to if any changes were made through those years that would prevent them from being interchangeable.
