LittleJaeger75
My dealer here in northern Wisconsin has received two Fusions this last week. It appears that cars are still coming in. A larger dealer 20 miles south of here has consistently been getting at least one fusion per week since the middle of October.
Poirot1959
I just got some very good news from my dealer. I should be getting my Fusion Titanuim Gingerale 2013 at the latest by the end of next week. So I presume that all car being build in november and later do not have the problems the one before that build date had. So hang in there folks, the fusion is coming to a town near you. Also did anyone of you guys has notice that the are now advertising the Fusion in commercials on TV. So that's it a new era has become. At least I will enjoy it a few weeks before the end of the world on dec 21.

They are having End of the World parties. Edited November 23, 2012 by hermans

LittleJaeger75
I just got off the phone with a Ford customer service rep. He told me that my car is still showing awaiting shipping on the ramp (since November 7th). He told me that he would get the Ford regional sales representative involved to find out why my car is not moving. He created a case# and gave it to me. I’m supposed to hear from my dealer by Tuesday with a reason as to why it has not shipped and when it will be shipped. I felt like this customer service rep was saying, “enough is enough”! Hey, I’m hoping that this is the start to be finally getting some answers as to when I will be getting my car.
3FordFamily
So I hear you all loud and clear. Ordered mine in August, never got it, still hasn't been built. Oh, but you have a fusion, you say? Yep, We ordered an SE with every option you could get, and come to find out it just wasn't happening. GM, Chrysler, AND Ford in 2007 downsized their distrubution significantly anticipating large problems. It takes a LONG time to build it back up where it needs to be. As a result, they are having issues shipping vehicles. Is it specific to SE and other models? Perhaps because I got a titanium for only 2300 more than we ordered the SE for loaded... figured I really wanted the titanium anyway and it was a way to get what I wanted and tell my wife sorry about her luck --- but seriously Ford needs to address the issue. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot you can do. They found a fusion titanium nearby and dealer traded a "future" unit (waiting to be shipped) for this live unit, and gave it to me for 2300 more. I did use Xplan pricing, and this fusion has every option except park assist and lane changing assist, blind spot protection. Wife said she can't drive anyway she doesn't need another excuse not to pay attention. So, you all may try to have your dealer do the same if you can jump to a titanium, or existing SE. Seems to be LOTS of base vehicles and titaniums, and a few SE's out there. We may need to get them serviced if there is a quality issue but I suspect distribution is a huge culprit -- this has long been a Ford bottleneck, but ESPECIALLY since the ginormous downsizing.
stephennielsen
I talked to a guy who knows a guy and this is what he told me...... Delays are attributable (at least in part) to the Active Shutter Grille. This is a stock feature on some models and apparently many fusions were made and shipped without it when they should have had it included. Some fusion owners received theirs and thought they were getting it (listed on the spec sheet) but the car didn't have it. Ford is refitting all of the cars (Titaniums) that are supposed to have it included as standard equipment but that were made without it.
aspradhan
I ordered the new 2013 Ford Fusion, Manual with the 1.6L EcoBoost engine on October 20th, 2012. It was built on or before November 30th 2012. Do I have it? No. It is sitting in a shipping yard with a "stop ship" order, along with several others. How did I find this out? Not through the dealer, not by Ford. I emailed them - no response so far, so I had to start calling the customer relations number about two weeks ago, was promised a call back that never materialized, and finally called and got someone to give me that status. They didn't know why there was a "stop ship" order. So I go back to the dealer and tell them what I know and ask them "what else can you find out?" Guess what they tell me a day later? "there's a stop ship order"! Really, I already know that. So now almost three months later, and having sold our car in anticipation of having a new one delivered, So what's my recourse? I can wait indefinitely for the car that I ordered, I can buy something off the lot that is not what I want, or I can go get another brand of car. Bottom line, there was no effort to inform us about the delay. So any idea as to what we can expect?Seems like some of the folks who posted here have started to receive their cars, so we can only hope...
akirby
Your dealer is an idiot. They had all of the details of the stop ship available to them if they just looked. The only unknown was how long it would take to finish the repairs. Weren't they wondering why their Fusions weren't showing up?
aspradhan
They are continuing to get about two to three per week. Just not mine. And yes, they should have known.
darrel.e.wise
Mine was built on October 4th and the dealer didn't get it until Dec 27th. Ford dropped the ball on informing the dealers and customers about the delays. Some say that they couldn't because it would give the competition an edge knowing they had problems building the cars. To that I say bull. I guarantee you that the competition knew all about the headlight issue long before any of ford's customers did. Do you think the competition didn't notice 20,000 cars sitting on the lot in Mexico and not going anywhere? I did bug a customer service rep enough, (I called once a week for an update, because they NEVER call you back), that he gave me a 3 year 45000 mile maintenance plan for free (a $750 value). I double checked with the dealer last week and it is in the system, so I now am getting 9 free oil changes, tire rotation, etc. Ask your customer service rep for at least that. If he says he can't do it, tell him/her that you know they can because they did it for me. My dealer also gave me all the rebates (500 for hybrid and 750 additional for an email campaign), even though technically they did not have to because the car was not dealer stock but a special order. With that and the X plan, I got a pretty good deal. But it did suck waiting 2 1/2 months (including one week at a railyard only 1 hour by truck to the dealer) to get the car. But you know what? All will be forgiven once you drive the car.
wazzul
Customer Service Rep? Is that someone from Ford or from your dealer?
darrel.e.wise
Ford Customer Service 1-866-631-3788. I dealt with Joshua at extension 77785. I got the number from a Social Media Rep (who are totally useless, all they do is try to get you to drink the kool-aid and can offer no solutions). She was telling me everything was all right my car was just awaiting transport, but posted the customer service number when she took a day off. I called it and found out that my car (and 20000 others) had a "stop ship" order on it. He assigned a case number and I continued to call each week for an update. Ford usually updates their information on Thursday night. So I would call Friday morning at 8:00 am central time. Eventually to placate me he offered the maintenance agreement.
