Ambiant lighting

Just bought a 2013 Fusion titanium . Has ambient lighting but cup holders don't light up. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Brian. :D Just a recommendation/friendly word of advice - Does not matter if anyone else, no one else or everyone else has had any particular problem. You have purchased a new car and something is not working properly. Go over your car with a fine-tooth comb and write down every issue. Then, make a service apointment and have them all taken care of.

Let us know how you make out and good luck. :beerchug:

After reading the owners manual cover to cover I found where it says that the ambient lighting lights up the cupholders. I called the dealership, they said to bring it in. In the meantime I went to a different dealership where they had a loaded Fusion with ambient lighting. Guess what? No lighted cupholders! I guess Ford made a last minute change and decided to not have lighted cupholders in the new 2013 Fusion. No one at the the 2 Ford dealerships knew about this. If anyone happens to get a 2013 Fusion with ambient lighted cupholders, let me know.

Just got my 2013 titanium last Friday and the same here for the cup holder with no ambient lighting. Also I did notice that when I start the car the AL is not on. I need to turn it back on all the time if I want it. Is this the same for you? Or could it be a bug in the software

My ambient lighting is sporadic when I start the car. I have to turn it off and back on again or change colors to get it to work. I took it back to dealer and they couldn't get it to malfunction. So I just live with it. As far as my gas mileage I do mostly highway and I am at 24.3 . With the 2 liter.

My cousin bought one of the first Honda Insight Hybrid cars that was released for sale.

She had to go to the dealer at least once a month for something. TSB, recalls, odd stuff not working, then it got wrecked and was in a body shop for almost a year waiting on parts.

She went ahead and bought a whole new car($1000-car classified) due to the rental coverage running out after only 14-days(her fault accident). She wound up keeping the $1000 car and selling the Insight as soon as it was done. She drove the $1000 1992 Mercury Sable for another 100,000-miles and sold it for $1,500.

Any new car will have trials and tribulations. I'd think strongly before I'd buy a first year car.

Let us know.

The problems with new cars that are often repeated with multiple owners usually turn into recalls for all of us.
