Hey everyone,

LONG time Ford lover, and new to the forum.

Spent lots of time on CHARGERforums (A dodge... we all make mistakes ok?) and I know this thread is worthless without pics.

We're from Fishers, Indiana. Just got married, pics below.

Here are our Fords...

Nice! Please do tell how you did the led in the headlights of the fusion. I am very interested in doing something similar. Are they located on the inside? How did you open up the headlights (oven method). etc. I would really love to know!

Thank you sir. yes, they were baked with a heat gun I believe, they were professionally installed and are inside the light.

Wow nice car, but I have 1 question.

The hood doesn't seem to have a prefect fit. Like it seem a bit higher on the passenger side and a bit too low on the driver side, were it reaches the front head light. Or it just a optical illusion?

The hood wasn't properly closed when the pics were taken, I remember the car telling me. It definitely doesn't look like that all the time. Good eye!

Sharp! Just wondering, did you change the projector lenses out when you added the hid lights?

If not could you take a picture of the cutoff and beam pattern against a garage door or something similar? I'd like to do hids when my new fusion comes in but am not sure what kind of projectors the factory puts in and whether they're good quality or not.

Thanks!

P.s.- what kind of mileage are you getting? I'm also getting a 2.0.

Congratulations! You have beautiful cars there (and the wife too)! Is your Fusion FWD or AWD? I'm wondering how the 2.0 turbo engine fares with the added weight of AWD. For home-office daily city driving, my 2011 Sport AWD feels a tad heavy from the line but responds pretty well when punched (guzzles though). I checked out the 2013's at my dealer last weekend but didn't get to drive it yet. I'm liking the car overall, inside and out, but a true test for me would be in the handling and acceleration. From the looks of it, the car seems light on its feet and the Ecoboost sounds promising, at least in torque. Would appreciate your inputs, brother.

They are factory projectors,

I used to debate folks on the HID projector vs non-projector stuff all day. My F150 and explorer don't have projectors and have HID's but the aim down so much if you set them next to any halogen headlight equipped vehicle they're no brighter/dimmer.

I never get flashed. Navigators, Escaldes, Aviators, 2001-2004 Acura and many other vehicles don't have projectors and yet have HID's, it's all in the aiming.

If you're the guy lifting them up or leaving them stock height at folks then you deserve the crap you get lol.

But yeah the projectors cut off nicely, and also show more of a beam of light inf ront of the vehicle where you need it at the same time. We move in to our new house in a couple weeks, I will post pics then, right now no garage in our temporary townhome!

Gas mileage is about 23 all city. Mixed I get about 28.

Fusion is FWD, supposedly the AWD hauls serious @$$. I was pleasantly surprised by a little bitty 2.0 turbo. I didn't expect much, it is quite powerful!

I recommend this car to ANYONE.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I had projector halogens in my subaru and when I changed to hids the scatter and hotspots were horrible. It lit so much right in front of the car that it wasn't worth the lumen output because the reflections off the road suface killed any distance illumination.

Now my wife's car I used a PnP kit on it with reflector housings and the pattern is suprisingly well adjusted. Maybe its the bulb type lends to better tolerances that the hids minuscule differences between where the standard filaments and hid arc sits doesn't change the beam pattern, or maybe its the housing....who knows.

That's why I'm trying to find out soon if I need to save up some money now to do maybe a morimoto projector retrofit, or if the stock projectors are "good enough" to save the fee hundred bucks and a weekend of mods.

Stock projectors work fine for me, I can see just fine :) Not a lot of scatter either, very defined line when driving

Do you know which brand of PnP hid kit you used?

Cheap eBay kit, wouldn;'t do it again. I've always used cheap garbage kits but on the new f150 anf fusion I had issue with one headlight, had to wire in a separate ground for it.

I didn't install them on the fusion because I remembered how much of a PITA it was ont he F150

Hey, I'm really interested in tinting the tail lights, please let me know if you would recommend using this http://www.lamin-x.com/Ford-Fusion-13-Tail-Light-Covers-p/f243.htm or did you buy your own tint film and cut it yourself, I know the Titanium have pretty bright LEDs do you think it will be an issue if I use the dark tint or should i go with the smoked one?

I am new to the Fusion Forum, I factory ordered my 2013 Fusion SE Hybrid, it is expected to be delivered in about two weeks. I love the look of your headlights with the lower line of LEDs. I saw where you stated they were professionally installed, could you tell me about how much it cost? I'd love to get it done to mine once I get it. I ordered the SE trim in Tuxedo Black with the luxury package, Adaptive Cruise Control, SE Hybrid Technology Package, Driver Assist Package and Reverse Sensing System. The LEDs added to the headlights would be the finishing touch!

Thanks!
