I'd like to get a Ford/HELM Shop Manual for my Fusion... but al I've come across are CD's

I've seen a few OEM Ford manuals on CD's on eBay... but they're quite expensive... a few hundo's or so.

But I've also seen a few that were probably pirated copies priced under $20... but they said they were for "2016-2018" or some such... and mine's a 2019.

I wonder if there was a change of that significance from 2018 to 2019? Might be worth taking a chance, if it's only $15 or $20.

Hi PG. Very little changed from 2018 to 2019. The biggest possible concern, in my estimation, would be components and systems such as the Lane Keep Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Self Parking system, and other major driver aids like that. Besides the major system upgrades, changes and possible additions in systems like that would also lead to possible changes in wiring harnesses, connectors, fuse locations in the boxes. Keep in mind I am only hypothesizing here. ?

My opinion? If you really want/need a good service manual and you think this one is legitimate, it could be worth the $15-$20 gamble.

Let us know what you decide and good luck.

Thank you, Mr. BBF2530!

The main reason for my concern and reticence about buying the 2018 Manual is the considerable difference in the hardware "driving aids" from the 2018 to the 2019, like you mention... mine doesn't have the power-adjustable steering column, the Parking Assist, and a few other detail deletions. But the significant body, chassis, and powertrain parts should be pretty much the same, or similar enough to be insignificant. The Traction Battery in the 2019 was changed significantly, though...  and I'm not sure if the change from 7.6 Kw/Hr to 9.0 Kw/Hr involved simply adding a few more cells to the battery, or if there was a more significant change to the system.

Hi PG. Oooops...I overlooked that you have a Hybrid.

So now that you mention the battery upgrades/changes, p;us the differnces in dahsboard instrument cluster electronics etc., is it possible the Hybrid has its own service manual or perhaps a supplement? (I don't know the answer).

You should probably ignore my thoughts from my previous post, until you can find more definitive information from another member or further research. I do not want to give you incorrect information which may cause you a few bucks. Unless the $15-20 does not matter.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Mr. Cruisin97,

I believe they were CD's. I couldn't find any printed manuals for a Fusion Hybrid or Energie.

They had the "Ford" blue oval logo on a CD in the photograph posted on eBay, anyway.

But I did see a couple that were supposedly "genuine" Ford CD manuals offered for well North of $200...  (I don't need that, I have a warranty... :)  )

I'm going on a vacation trip in a couple of weeks to visit our grandson away at his college, so I'm not doing too much fiddling around with the car for a while. It's going to be tough enough packing the "necessary stuff" for my wife and daughter in a Plug-In Fusion Hybrid's dinky trunk. We're accustomed to the giant cavernous of a Mercury Grand Marquis.

Yes, I saw the over $200 ones as well. Don't understand what I changed as I bought those in the past for around $20.

Do you have the small or really small trunk? That was one of the reasons I didn't get a hybrid. I had an 87 Grand Marquis. I still miss that trunk!!  :)

Have a safe trip!!

Hey, Mr. cruisin07...

My most recent scan of eBay came up with a 2016-2018 manual on CD for $20 and a 2019 manual for $40... along with several in the $200+ range. Why the difference? Beats me...

Yep, we have a Fusion Energie... the car with the stupid-dinky 8 cubic foot trunk... just about big enough for a trip to the grocery store with three bags of groceries. But, it will work for us; it's one way of limiting the amount of "stuff" that my wife needs to bring along on a trip. "Sorry, honey, the trunk is already full, there's just no more room." (Back in my bachelor days, I could go away for a couple of weeks with a suitcase that would fit between the two front seats.)

That said, it looks like our little jaunt to visit "the kids" in Sioux Falls is going to be postponed... COVID fear has my daughter-in-law scared to have company... she won't even go to the grocery store for fear of "catching COVID"... she has all her grocery and other shopping needs delivered by Door-Dash, or Shipt, or whatever other delivery service. She does have a serious heart condition, but I still think she's seriously paranoid. So, we'll have to try again some other time. The weather from here to there stinks, anyway... and driving 600 miles in the rain isn't my idea of a fun trip.

HI Ponyguy,

Sorry for the long delay in replying.

Hope you and your family are all fine.

I guess I stopped looking at the forum and manuals as life just happened. But suddenly my car is 6 years old (7 if you count from when it was built) and needs maintenance.

I see a couple of manuals on CD or zip drive for about $15-20, so I may try one to see if it has any useful info.

Any news on this from your end?

Thanks!
