bbf2530 Posted May 2, 2007 Share Posted May 2, 2007 Hello all! :D I was wondering if any forum member who is "on the inside", would know what specific changes have been made between the JOB 1 (start of production), and JOB 3 (current production run), 2007 Lincoln MKZ? For example, I know there was a recent TSB for a Transmission Control Module reflash, which might trigger a JOB # change? Is that the extent of changes, or were there more? I also realize the changes can sometimes be relatively insignificant (like a change in the shape of the trim lettering or radio knobs, etc). The TCM reflash probably did not cause the Job # change, it was simply postposed until that Job # date. Ford only allows part number changes at certain points during the model year. Lots of time and money is spent between engineering, FCSD service part issues and then plant integration and end of line testing. Thanks for the reply, mtl1977.:D Yes, I realize it may just be a group of small changes, and that the TCM reflash may have nothing to do with it. I was only using that as an example. Another example would be the possibility that Ford changed over the transaxle from the Aisin to the Ford/GM joint venture trans which is in the MKX. I'm hoping that someone "on the inside", may have some more specific info as to the JOB 1-2-3 changes. I understand if no one does. It really is just a "satisfy my curiosity" sort of thing, as I have a "JOB 1" MKZ, produced in November of '06.
