Ordered SE on 12/22 - Still No VIN?

Hello, I'm new.

 

I ordered DW a 2013 Fusion SE on 12/22 but have yet to get a VIN. I've talked to both the dealer and the factory and neither have any information. About how long are we looking at for turn-around on production and delivery these days?

 

As of today it's a little over four weeks since the date it says it was ordered.

It took just under 6 weeks to get my VIN. I ordered 12/11

I ordered an SE Hybrid and on 1/12/2013 and received my VIN on 1/23/2013. I was told the build date for the vehicle would be on Feb 4 2013 and delivery should be a couple weeks after that. For what it's worth I live in CT.

A lot of factors go into Ford accepting an order for scheduling. Does the dealership have allocation? What priority did the dealership put on the order? Has the dealership placed later orders in the system with a higher priority? Does the order inculde commodities that are on hold/controlled/short supply?

 

They are going to make it sound like Ford controls all of the processes, but in fact the dealership has the biggest influence on scheduling. They know their allocation, the order priority, etc. and any controlled items (from their dealer news bulletin). Production scheduling is updated on Thur. evenings, so check with your dealership on Fridays for any status changes.
