green.cubic
Hey guys - I was told by the dealer the build date on my car was 2-4-2013 however on the vehicle sticker I was unable to locate this date. I used the following link to figure out how to decipher the date however the area they highlight in this article doesn't exist in my window sticker http://www.lancelhoff.com/get-ford-build-date-from-window-sticker/ My Window Sticker http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?Vin=3FA6P0LU2DR240098 From looking at the window sticker I saw two dates, 1/31/2013 under "Special Order" text and the other is 2/6/2013 at the bottom of the page although I think that is just the date that I pulled the window sticker and will probably update as time goes by. Could someone clear this up for me?

Could someone clear this up for me? I think the date of 1/31/2013 is when the order gets passed to production and the components/parts/etc are scheduled to be available when the car is assembled. Again that's my layman's view of it. From looking at many of these VINs and comparing this date to the build date in Etis (after the fact) in most cases the build date comes 2-10 days after that date, but of course there are many variables in the process. Look up some VINs from your dealer's lot and compare the window sticker date to the actual build date in Etis and you should find the same. The other date is just the date that you pulled up the sticker.
green.cubic
Thanks Jeff. I know it's in the range of this week if nothing else - I was just curious if it were possible to narrow down the exact date.
jeff_h
Thanks Jeff. I know it's in the range of this week if nothing else - I was just curious if it were possible to narrow down the exact date. Just check the VIN in Etis once a day, from what I've seen that will show the actual build date on the following day, maybe two days later but from what I've seen (granted a limited sample of maybe 50 VINs) it normally gets posted the next day.
hermans
Thanks Jeff. They have the week it's scheduled and the "scheduled to day" which is the build day. If they don't have it yet - it hasn't been scheduled yet.
Waldo
First it's scheduled to a week, (that's what the dealer has when then see 2-4-13), then it's scheduled to a day. Looks like it's scheduled for 2-8-13.

Mine was posted today 2/7 with a build date of 2/6 - original build date was supposed to be 2/5. Looks like you're right
Kmokarry
Just received my VIN today & it shows in Etis as build date 30.11.0002? Seems like a place holder until the actual scheduled date gets assigned? I think I am in good shape to use my $750 brochure coupon as it expires 6/10. I can alway request additioanl if it seems like car won't be ready by then.
Mad_46371
Mine shows a build date of 4-5-13 on etis. On my window sticker shows 4-26-13 My vin # 3fa6p0hrxdr320026. Still waiting for car.
hermans
There are no build dates on the stickers. Your build date was 4/5. Have you called the dealer? They are able to look up and see exactly what your car's status is.

To camp onto the above... a reminder that the dates shown in Etis are reverse of what most are used to seeing... so VIN 3FA6P0HRXDR320026 has date on window sticker of April 25th, and was built on May 4th per Etis.
