geopilot
The speedometer on our 2010 FFH with 52K miles has stopped working. Odometer and all other gauges/instruments are still fuctional. I found reference to a TSB for this problem on early production 2010 models which our is. I have no codes or check engine light illuminated, so I guess I need to take it in to be re-programmed, unless someone else has any ideas on this one- probably not covered under the extended hybrid warranty either...
FusionDiffusion
Yes, you'll have to have it reprogramed by the dealer at your expense.
drolds1
The TSB covers cars built prior to 9/xx09. What's your build date? If the inop. speedo is due to a failed vehicle speed sensor (VSS), then it might be covered under the extended warranty.
geopilot
Thanks- build date was 6/02/09, so I think the TSB may apply: TSB 09-13-9 SPEEDOMETER INOPERATIVE - BUILT ON OR BEFORE 6/25/2009 I'm assuming a faulty speed sensor would have triggered the check engine light, or not?
FusionDiffusion
Yes, bad VSS would trigger a CEL after a minute or two and the transmission would shift oddly.
Greg Hess
In the case of my 2010 FFH, the speedometer failed at under 10k miles. It was a quick procedure to fix -- the service advisor told me it was a software update. But it was also covered by the warranty. Good luck!
geopilot
Well, guess I got lucky. Dealer reprogrammed the computer, which solved the problem. No charge, as they said it was a known software glitch. Why it took 4 years and 52k miles to happen I have no clue.
hogges
I fixed my speedometer by unplugging number 13 and 26 fuse and plugging them back, these fuses control the sync module and the instrument cluster respectively, I fixed my blue tooth that wasnt working properly the same way, except I only unplugged 13 that time... the dealer wanted $700 for a part I cant name now... These are computers and like all computers ocassionally they need a reboot, hope this helps somebody
