I guess you had to pick the BMW picture to make your point only because the 3 links listed above that are fully functional HOOD SCOOPS on some of today's PRODUCTION vehicles.

 

2008 Magnum SRT, the Subaru Outback and the Subaru Impreza are not production vehicles, dude..just give it up. Your hood scoop statement has no merit!

 

I digress, only because I am tiring of your 'bait and switch' arguement tactics.

 

Take a chill pill. Geez.

 

You've got non-functional scoops on your car. Fine. Whatever. Looks nice, but even if converted to some level of "functional" status they'd have minimal to no impact on engine performance. You don't have a carburator in the center of your engine bay below your windsheild... ergo, the scoop motif is an aesthetic gimmick.

a ram air scoop also does not have to force feed the engine it can vent the engine bay like the Dodge SRT-4

as you can see the scoop is open and then vents all the way to the back to help cool the turbo and lower under hood temps. This is picking up just as much HP as force feeding the engine. Lower temps more HP.
